Amidst the excitement of the Olympics, our campaign to help restore the Vortex’s beloved Steinway Grand has rounded the final bend and is within sight of the finish line.
The campaign ends on Sunday at 18.00. It has been great to see the response from the Vortex community so far, but as we dash for the line we would like to make a last appeal. What you can do to help is not limited to contributing money, find out more below.
We would also like to announce a spectacular new reward – the gold medal of our reward structure. Get us to our goal in one great leap by donating £2,000 and receiving…
A drum head and set of sticks signed by Charlie Watts – Patron of the Vortex Foundation and drummer with the Rolling Stones.
…Will you be our honkey-tonk woman, or man?!?
What you can do to help
We need you to share this campaign far and wide. Send your friends to our crowdfunder page:

…and make a racket on social media using the following hashtags:
#greatmusicdeservesagreatpiano
#musicianswhoplayedthevortexpiano
Perhaps share our campaign videos of fantastic original improvisations from three top jazz pianists, who also explain the importance of having a well maintained piano at the Vortex.

The Vortex Steinway’s date with the piano restoration expert has now been booked for late August. We’re nearly in a position to ensure this great instrument gets the care it deserves. So please do what you can to help us get there!
