Part of a Match&Fuse tour
Alexander Hawkins
Alexander Hawkins is a composer, pianist, organist, and bandleader who is ‘unlike anything else in modern creative music’ (Ni Kantu) and whose recent work has reached a ‘dazzling new apex’ (Downbeat). Self-taught, he works in a vast array of creative contexts. His own highly distinctive soundworld is forged through the search to reconcile both his love of free improvisation and profound fascination with composition and structure.
Latest album ‘Song Singular‘ is released on Babel records in November.
Wolfram Trio
Wolfram Trio is a Norwegian group that seeks inspiration in acoustic free jazz, as well as modern contemporary improvised music. With heroes such as Albert Ayler, Peter Brotzman and Barry Guy, some listeners claim to recognize these roots, but still admit that the trio has managed to create their own original sound. Wolfram plays improvised music and the result often tends to be spontaneous, fearless and explosive.
Wolfram Trio is:
Halvor Meling – Saxophone
Fredrik Luhr Dietrichson – Acoustic Bass
Jan Martin Gismervik – Drums
