A BAND OFF THE WALL FREE OPEN WORKSHOP

We are bringing to life the large and impressive ‘Peace Mural’ opposite Dalston Junction Station, creating an intergenerational community street band through a series of free workshops and performances.
This is the launch event – what a New Orleans street band might sound like in Hackney today!
Led by GUO multi-instrumentalist Gerry Hunt, rehearsals and performances will continue from autumn 2016 and through 2017.
Open to all adult musicians, the Band will be acoustic and capable of playing with minimal amplification. All instruments, western and non-western, are welcome, representing the whole of Dalston’s present- day varied and colourful population.
