I caught the second set of Matt Carmichael’s quartet. The energy that they generated as the set developed was immense. With two exceptional solos from Fergus McReadie on piano driving the rest of the band to new heights (Ali Watson and Tom Potter on bass and drums respectively). They were launching their new EP and definitely lived up to hype of Tommy Smith. Good that we shall hear more of Ali and Tom here in London as both have just started studies at the Guildhall.
