Tonight, Live Junction’s Holly Cullen-Davies will interview doctor Alex Salam about his extraordinary 13 month trip to Antarctica where he was employed to do research for the European Space Agency. Here Alex will talk about his experience and how music affected him and got him through temperatures of -80 degrees and months of complete darkness.
Seven tracks of his choice will be played live by musicians of Live Junction
Inspired by BBC Radio 3′s Late Junction, Live Junction is a unique performance, bringing you jazz and classical music alongside world, folk and pop.
“Live Junction sessions are always a joyful surprise and delight…they transport you down little known byways with a verve, musicality and cluster of sheer brilliant talents that you don’t often get to see even in a city like this one” Max Reinhardt of Late Junction
