The LJO welcomes in the new year with two new members, as Calum Gourlay, bass, and Ollie Martin, trombone, join the band. Calum, whose own big band has been playing at the Vortes for several years, takes over from the wonderful Alec Dankworth, who has been the LJO’s bass since its inception in 1991. Scott Stroman directs the star-studded band as it features Calum in the role of composer as well as player.
