About
After three months touring and recording in Brazil, London-based singer-songwriter Noga Ritter returns for a special night at the Vortex Jazz Club, bringing new, unreleased music alongside songs from her critically acclaimed album Ima. Blending Hebrew Jazz with global grooves, Noga’s music moves seamlessly between intimate storytelling and infectious rhythms, captivating audiences with her passionate and dynamic performances.
The night will open with a solo set by Brazilian guitarist, singer-songwriter, and composer Victor Mendes, a close collaborator who is visiting London for just a few days. Noga will then take the stage with her quartet, featuring Victor on a few songs and her brother, Eran Ritter, on piano. In a rare and heartfelt gathering, she will bring together artists she has worked with from around the world—playing together for the first time.
Noga released her debut solo album Ima in May 2023 with Galileo Music, supported by Arts Council England and Help Musicians UK. The album features a stellar lineup, including Seckou Keita (kora), Byron Wallen (trumpet), Tony Kofi (saxophone), and producer Liran Donin. Since its release, she has toured in the UK, Germany, Italy, and Brazil, and performed a sold-out show at the EFG London Jazz Festival.
Her music has been praised for its rich fusion of influences:
“An immensely promising debut and dizzyingly diverse listen… a writer of serious potential ” – JAZZWISE
“A heady mix of jazz, kora, Moroccan Gnawa rhythms and Senegalese sabar” – SONGLINES
“Irresistible sound, music that defies any musical genres” – John Osborne, JAZZ FM
From sold-out performances to BBC TV appearances, Noga’s music is making waves in the international scene. Join her at the Vortex for an evening where boundaries blur and music unites—celebrating collaboration, creativity, and her birthday in a true “Noga” style!
