All human Loop is around. A rare opportunity to have some of the Loop travellers back in London.
A Loop Collective night featuring Splice:
Splice’s raison d’être is to mesh together influences of contemporary jazz, free improv, loud and soft noise, punk grit, ambient music, and more… with seamless blends or blunt juxtapositions.Featuring Alex Bonney on cornet and electronics, Robin Fincker on tenor sax and clarinet, Dave Smith on drums, Pierre Alexandre Tremblay on bass guitar and electronics.
Cat’s Cradle:Cat’s Cradle is Loop’s variable large ensemble featuring the collective’s core members. The music is commissioned from Loop’s members for each new project with an emphasis on compositional sketches that leave room for collective improvisation. Cat’s Cradle made its first outing at the Loop Collective Upload festival in 2012 and collaborated with the highly individual and genre-busting Norwegian guitarist Stian Westerhus at the EFG London Jazz Festival 2013. Expect an evening of sonic adventures.
featuring the members of Splice plus Tom Challenger: sax, Dan Nicholls: keys, Rory Simmons: trumpet and Dave Manington: bass
and a late DJ set from Dan Nichols (until 1am)
