Aisling is a London-based singer/songwriter with a gift for harmony, improvisation and scat. She returns to the Vortex after a long hiatus with a brand new selection of music. Inspired by the poems on the underground, she has written a suite of songs using these poems as lyrics set in a range of styles from ballad to samba. With her band she will also be sharing some of her other new compositions with lyrics from Chico Buarque, Mimi Khalvati and also an extract from the acclaimed book ‘Call me by your name’. In the second set, Aisling will be singing songs written by friends and artists that she has met since moving to London in 2006. Artists include Brigitte Beraha, Fini Bearman, Submotion Orchestra and more. Join us for what promises to be an exciting evening of eclectic, energetic jazz.
