Acclaimed pianist and composer Antonio Zambrini presents at the Vortex his creative take on some of the most iconic film soundtracks of the Italian neorealism.
This project of rediscovery originated in Zambrini’s longstanding collaboration with the Milan Film Archive (Cineteca di Milano), where he frequently performed live improvised soundtracks to a variety of silent films. He therefore had access to a wealth of cinematic material to draw inspiration from, some of which was even unreleased from the authors.
He will be joined by his long standing bassist of choice Andrea Di Biase, by refined guitarist Luca Boscagin and by a figurehead of the Italian jazz scene: drummer Ettore Fioravanti.
They will be performing alongside a projection of a selection of scenes from Fellini and Visconti’s films.
