This ‘remarkable quartet’ play the final concert of their much-anticipated 20-date 2018 UK tour, just before recording their 3rd album. Co-Led by one of the most versatile and exciting vocalists on the UK jazz scene Brigitte Beraha and ‘formidably skilled’ UK pianist Barry Green, the all-star contemporary jazz quartet Babelfish craft multi-lingual songs into little musical gems. Between them they have played with the great and the good of jazz and have been garnering rave reviews since their 2012 debut album for their beautiful musical renderings drawn from an eclectic songbook. Fast-paced tunes about sushi, free jazz, contemporary classical or traditional folk: as any Hitchhiker will know, the Babelfish will translate from any language into your own! This concert marks the final date of their tour, ahead of recording their 3rd album: a journey inside their favourite books through the vehicles of jazz, latin, classical, folk and improvised music.
“It’s a pleasure to enter the original music language of this band: a world of playfulness and beauty, where anything could happen- you’re caught up in their sense of mystery and imagination.” Alison Bentley, LondonJazz
“Babelfish are a definition of a contemporary jazz class act.” John Fordham, The Guardian
“This remarkable quartet has evolved its own musical language. […] Unfamiliar at first, but gently seductive, it keeps you listening through the sheer power of invention.” Dave Gelly, The Observer
