Blow the Fuse presents The Casimir Connection album launch as part of the ‘Resistance’ series – 30 years of Blow the Fuse 1989-2019.
The Casimir Connection is a jazz chamber group for the modern era. Tonight they launch their new album ‘Cause and Effect’.
Exploring the boundaries between classical, folk and jazz with intensity and intimacy, they echo chamber music of the classical tradition – with influences from Keith Jarrett to Poulenc, Bartok and Balkan folk music.
‘Cause and Effect’ is a journey through the influence of childhood experiences. Preview tracks: https://soundcloud.com/user-471985480-928513663/sets/cause-and-effect-preview
“The bright fibrous sound of Diane McLoughlin’s soprano saxophone is a particular delight” Dave Gelly (The Guardian)
“McLoughlin can mix a keening tone with a melodic sweetness” Andy Robson (Jazzwise magazine)
