As part of left-field London promoter Damnably’s 8th birthday celebrations we bring you Chris Brokaw for a solo electric guitar set encompassing recent works.
Chris Brokaw is a drummer, guitarist, singer/songwriter and a founding member of two of the most influential US post-punk bands: COME (Matador) & Codeine (Sub Pop). He’s played in an incredible number of acts, including GG ALLIN, The New Year, The Thurston Moore Band, The Lemonheads to name a few. Chris has long been the tour buddy of choice for the likes of Nirvana, The Pixies, Mono, Dinosaur Jr and Shellac.
In 2012 Chris released ‘Gambler’s Ecstasy’ (Damnably/12XU), a rock solo album five years in the making that scored 4/5 in Mojo, 8.5/10 in TLOBF & 8/10 in The 405.
Damnably also released the critically acclaimed ‘The Angel’s Message To Me’ & ‘Boarder’s Door’ from Chris and Geoff Farina (Karate).
Recent releases include ‘Mass. Grave’ by Martha’s Vinyard Ferries (w/ Bob Weston) and a soundtrack album to the film ‘now, forager’.
Equally at home in the realms of Rock and Experimental music, Chris Brokaw is an enigma and a joy to watch perform live.
