Solo set with electronics. Chris Dowding will take words from the audience, interpret them as melodies and play them back alongside loops.
Chris is a trumpeter and workshop leader based in Norwich. He plays with the bands Natural Causes, and Rude 2.0 (with the trombonist Annie Whitehead), and leads the Moonrise Trio (which also includes guitarist Moss Freed and bassist Ruth Goller).
He performed on flugelhorn for the Opera North production, ‘Songs at a Years End’ (a piece about the miner’s strike, composed by Hugh Nankivell, with words by Ian McMillan), and has performed at Union Chapel, Spitalfields Festival and Marsden Jazz Festival.
He is joined by guest Sarah Woolfenden who is the trumpeter with the band Tolerance Manoeuvre. She has also played with the Annie Whitehead World Music Workshop Band, and is a visual artist as well as a musician.
