Following on from their recording and gig at Cafe OTO for trestle records as part of their ‘One Day Band’ series, Chris Sharkey (TrioVD, Sharkey / Sanders, Roller Trio) Charles Hayward (This Heat, Camberwell Now) and Jack Wyllie (Szun Waves, Portico Quartet) play together for the third time. 3 Unique musicians with diverse backgrounds create intense and unique improvisations that draw on their range of experience and backgrounds from jazz electronic music and experimental rock.
They play along side CRACKLE who started off as an off-kilter collaboration between bassist Nick Doyne-Ditmas and drummer Frank Byng, that draws on their extensive experience as musicians and producers working across a wide range of traditions and practices, old and new.
Through a series of studio experiments and improvisations the duo set out to explore the frontiers between analog and digital, acoustic and electric, lo-fi and hi-fi, real and imaginary… this resulted in their album ‘Heavy Water’. The duo had never planned to take the project live but couldn’t turn down an offer to support Barry Adamson on a UK tour., enlisting synth maestro Ben Cowen to help augment their live sound. Now a trio, Crackle have continued to perform extensively in the UK to rave reviews and are currently working towards their second album….
