About
The History of Cardenio is a symphonic poem whose characters go through betrayal, madness, loneliness and impossible love. Composed for trumpet, drums and double bass, the work retraces musically one of the stories contained in Cervantes’ Don Quixote, whose plot was brought to the stage by William Shakespeare. The History of Cardenio is a shrewd exploration of the drives that direct human actions, through sonorous atmospheres and an acrobatic balance between structure and freedom.
“Structured but flexible music, with changing scenarios. Supported by Cano’s warm and round sound, the trio maintains interest in a balance between ethereal atmospheres, nervous rhythms, contagious grooves and evocative lyricism. Give it more than one turn.” Carlos Pérez Cruz – Club de Jazz
