A relaxed atmosphere and an opportunity to be part of the extended Vortex community.
The Downstairs Living Room
Converting Vortex Downstairs into their very own living room, vocalists Rebecka Edlund and Immy Churchill invite you to a night of storytelling through music. With their shared love for songwriting and improvisation, the singers intertwine their unique voices with some of the most exciting musicians in the UK.
Have you ever sipped a cup of tea to the sound of a bass clarinet and a 12-string guitar? Munched a custard cream to a flute and banjo improvisation?
If yes, I bet you’d like to do it again and if no, here’s your chance.
For this adventurous edition of The Downstairs Living Room, singer-songwriter and experimental vocalist Rebecka Edlund will share her original music intertwined with Swedish folk songs and freely improvised storytelling. She’ll be joined by some of the most adventurous and original musicians this city has to offer.
Rebecka Edlund – voice
Rūta Sipola – flute
Alex Lyon – bass clarinet
Tom Step – banjo and piano
