Join longstanding Vortex favourites Dunajska Kapelye for a night of authentic Balkan and East European folk, Klezmer, Hotclub jazz and the odd standard.
Led by the virtuoso jazz violin of Piotr Jordan and multi-instrumentalist and composer Zac Gvirtzman on his “bluesy” accordion, brass clarinet and piano. They are joined by the wonderful Paul Moylan on double bass.
From wedding dances and raucous drinking songs from around the region to the most plaintive Gypsy ballads and exquisite tangos and waltzes.
Full of creative alchemy, humour and musical surprises – this ensemble will always leave an audience “with a big, stupid grin on their faces.” Plus special guests.
