About
Elliot is a jazz guitarist and composer hailing from Perth, Western Australia, who since August 2019 has been making his base in London. His work both as a leader and sideman has seen him perform at various events such as both of Perth’s premier Jazz Festivals (Perth International Jazz Festival and Perth Corner Pocket Festival) as well as performing internationally in countries such as the United States, Italy and Bulgaria. Some of his influences as an improviser and composer include the likes of Bill Frisell, Brad Mehldau, Wayne Shorter, Paul Motian and Lage Lund.
In the past two years since making the move to London, Elliot has written a number of compositions which have firm roots in jazz sensibilities with touches of influence from back home in Australia laced throughout. He’ll be debuting a number of these pieces at The Vortex alongside three of the most exciting and in demand musicians in the London jazz scene, saxophonist Jonathan Chung, bassist Calum Gourlay and drummer Corrie Dick with whom he’s been playing this music in the past months.
