A cocktail of interaction and musical experimentation with Maestro Evan Parker, New York-based trumpeter / composer Peter Evans and Chicago-based electronic sound artist / composer Sam Pluta.
Rocket Science has been performing in trio and quartet formations since their premiere at the Vortex in 2012 (a recording of which was released on More is More records later that year). This unique combination of instrumental mavericks sets the stage for electro-acoustic mayhem never before improvised. As Mark Corroto stated in All About Jazz, “With a unit like Rocket Science, Evan Parker can finally realize his improvising conception of real time electronic processing, improvisation, and extended technique.” Missing Craig Taborn for this event, the group consists of three pioneers of their instruments: Evan Parker on saxophones, Peter Evans on trumpet, and Sam Pluta on electronics.
