About
As songwriters working within the realms of jazz, folk and contemporary song, Fini, Brigitte and Sara come together for this special one-off event to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023.
This triple bill will also feature special guests including Caskie Trio; an exciting all-women, all-singing and playing trio from London, performing original singer-songwriter music, inspired by the works of Ichiko Aoba and I’m With Her.
For this special evening, expect original songs, inventive explorations & improvisation, chamber arrangements and brand new collaborations.
______________
Fini Bearman
A singer, songwriter, composer & multi-instrumentalist, who has a ‘rare sense of melody running through her eclectic compositions, full of catchy twists and turns’. Her music melds diverse influences from jazz, folk and contemporary music into an ‘arresting and uniquely personal’ sound. Sometimes dealing with settings of poetry and other times original lyrics, ‘her voice, effortlessly moves between a light precision and warm soulfulness is unmistakably her own’.
‘One of contemporary music’s most imaginative song stylists’ (Jazzwise ****)
_____________
Brigitte Beraha
Embracing a wide variety of music influences and genres, from jazz and latin to classical and, more recently, electronic, Beraha’s sound is free and fluid with an emphasis on exploration and expression. Fearlessly testing the limits of the voice as instrument, her sound is distinguished by the unexpected, with free improvisation and evocative wordless singing at its core. This agility, adventurous spirit and limitless imagination all mark her out as a truly exciting and versatile artist with a huge range of experience and creative scope.
‘One of the most creative vocalists on the UK scene’ (BBC Radio 3)

Sara Colman
When American jazz critic Ted Gioia says an album is worthy of your attention it’s probably a pretty good indication that the music is going to be a little bit special. When Sara Colman stepped into the spotlight in 2018 with her third solo studio album ‘What We’re Made of’ (released on Stoney Lane Records) it was met with unanimously sparkling reviews and unmitigated enjoyment!
“A class act . . . richly evocative . . . immaculate performances. Situated in the hinterland somewhere between jazz and the territory of the singer-songwriter.” (The Jazz Mann)
