About
Flying Machines combine visceral improvisation with anthemic melodies and lusciously textured soundscapes, influenced by Wayne Krantz, Tigran Hamasyan and Animals as Leaders. From thundering, all out metal assaults, to ambient meditations and plaintive melodies, the band’s trademark fusion of contemporary jazz with progressive rock and explosive live performances have seen them become one of the most thrilling acts to have emerged from the UK contemporary jazz scene.
“Lyrical themes, head-in-the-clouds ambience and prog-ish grooves that spool out of the speakers like data streams down fibre optic cables” Jazzwise
“Pioneering take on contemporary fusion” Guitarist
“Gritty rock-powered guitar improv” The Guardian
“Rhythmic sleight of hand, intricate unison sections and inspired improvisations” Prog
