About

Golding, Edwards & Noble play an improvised set based on the music of their album “Moon Day”.
Moon Day was released in 2021 on Byrdout records & was met with great critical acclaim, becoming one of the most talked about free jazz releases of the year in the U.K, ranking at number 4 on Mojo’s list of best jazz releases that year. The music consists entirely of free improvisation by the trio.

John Edwards is a true virtuoso whose staggering range of techniques and boundless musical imagination have redefined the possibility of the double bass and dramatically expanded its role, whether playing solo or with others. Perpetually in demand, he has played with Evan Parker, Roscoe Mitchell, Sunny Murray, Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee, Lol Coxhill, Peter Brötzmann, Mulatu Astatke and many others.

Binker Golding is a tenor saxophonist & composer. With his ensemble Binker & Moses he has released five albums which have won a number of awards, including a MOBO award in 2015. He also fronts his own group which was nominated for a Jazz FM award in 2020 for best album. He also received the Jazz FM award for instrumentalist of the year in 2020. He is also known for performing improvised music in a duo with Elliot Galvin.

Steve Noble is one of the U.K’s most outstanding drummers & is renowned for being one of the most exciting improvisors on the U.K free jazz scene. He is perhaps best known for playing improvised music with the likes of Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee & Peter Brotzmann. He also regularly appears with Matthew Shipp, Ishmael Wadada, Alex Ward & many others. He is also a prolific recording artist, appearing on hundreds of recordings.
