Jonny Mansfield’s Elftet was formed in September 2015, and is an extension of JMQ (his quartet) who have been playing together for over three years. His original compositions are influenced by those of Vince Mendoza, Marius Neset and Stravinsky, as well as songwriters such as Norah Jones and James Taylor. The larger ensemble offers a wide palette of textures and colours, from traditional four horn writing to more contemporary classical music with the use of strings and vibraphone. More recently Elftet performed their debut gig at the 606 Club, played in a masterclass with Dave Holland and received the Tebbutt Exhibition award for an outstanding performance.
