The latest recipient of the Kenny Wheeler prize, Jonny Mansfield has put together a EU supergroup for a debut gig at the Vortex. The frontline consists of flute hero Gareth Lockrane and vibraphonist Jonny Mansfield. Joining them are Spanish pianist Alberto Palau, who has been playing with Dick Oates and Charles McPherson. Felix Moseholm, who is currently studying at the Juilliard School and playing with Alex Riel, Emmet Cohen and Ben van Gelder. Finally, Marc Michel, who is a member of the renowned EYM trio who are set to release their upcoming record.
