Kefaya is an international collective of musicians led by UK pianist Al MacSween and Italian guitarist Giuliano Modarelli. Bringing together their versatility and extensive range of influences, Kefaya’s appeal is in their ability to organically combine musical styles, exploring world folk traditions through improvisation, electronics and contemporary grooves. Their sound results from a deep understanding of different musical styles and from their extensive collaborations with artists from around the world. Their material often expresses a deep social and political awareness, drawing on folk songs and re-workings of revolutionary anthems.
Kefaya’s highly anticipated debut album ‘Radio International’ was recorded during travels and collaborations with musicians across India, Palestine, Spain, Italy & the UK and features an array of virtuoso musicians, including Nicki Wells, Alessia Tondo, Chico Pere, Deborshee Bhattarcharjee, Ahmed Eriqat and many more. It will be released later this year.
