Ken Hoon is a cutting-edge jazz collective spearheaded by award-winning drummer and composer Jack Yardley. Known for its captivating soundscapes and genre-defying approach, Ken Hoon blends modern jazz with elements of groove, improvisation, and cinematic composition.
Formed in 2021, the band emerged as the evolution of Jack’s previous projects, including the Jack Yardley Quintet. Their debut EP Dreamland, released in May 2021, features Jack’s original compositions, showcasing his ability to craft intricate, emotive melodies while leaving space for vibrant interplay and spontaneity among the musicians.
Ken Hoon has performed at some of the UK’s most iconic jazz venues, including a sell-out headline show at Ronnie Scott’s in 2024. The collective’s live performances are celebrated for their dynamic energy, pushing creative boundaries while remaining accessible to audiences of all musical tastes.
