Vocalist Lauren Kinsella and drummer Alex Huber originally met in Lucerne 2009, recording in Zurich under Dave Liebman at the IASJ Meeting. They later came together in Berlin 2010, to begin exploring new material within the freedom and limitations in duo free play. The first result is the recording All This Talk Aboutreleased on the Swiss German label WideEarRecords. Since then, they have performed in Paris with the Onze Heures Onze Collective, Berlin and London. 2015 will see the release of their second album with guitarist Sascha Henkel.
Trumpeter Alex Bonney and Double Bassist Olie Brice have worked together in a variety of contexts. They are members of each other’s respective quartets, and collaborate with James Allsopp in the electro-acoustic improvising trio BABs. Tonight’s gig will be the first time they have performed duo, as they build on their shared history in a freely improvised set.
Both duos will play a set of music which will be followed by a performance with the 4 musicians.
