The penultimate edition of Grass Roots in 2019 will be headlined by Joe Perkins, a London-based session musician whose guitar-led jazz, rock and fusion very much follows the path set by the likes of John McLaughlin, John Scofield and the late Larry Coryell.
Having already performed at The Jazz Café, upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s and at The Royal Academy of Arts, Joe plans to set alight the Vortex with a fervent mixture of originals and high-energy fusion standards. He will be expertly flanked by Rachel Espeute on bass and Bertie Atkinson on drums.
As per the usual, resident DJ Mr Boogie (Soulsa/Shoreditch Radio) will be on the decks before, in between and after the live sets.
