Drawing on their shared background as jazz musicians, electronic/vocal duo Marble Sun are part of a growing movement of British electronic artists incorporating organic elements into their sound – using live synthesisers to blend Tim Davies’s expansive soundscapes & infectious dance rhythms (Floating Points, Overmono, Jon Hopkins) with Olivia Williams’s raw, intimate vocals (London Grammar, Lianne La Havas, Sade).
Join us for a different kind of evening at the Vortex, as Marble Sun unveil their second EP in a unique immersive listening experience. The 4 tracks from their upcoming record have been woven together into one continuous work exclusively for this event and will be played in hi-fidelity stereo sound – an opportunity to surrender to the act of listening and hear this recorded music as the artists intended.
With a Q&A from Marble Sun on the making of the music, art by Leeds artist Aidan Wyldbore, and the chance to reflect and discuss over a drink following the event, this is a must for audiophiles or anyone interested in the limitless sonic possibilities of synthesis.
Ticketholders who pre-order the EP will receive a download card at the event giving exclusive early access to the EP + unique extended audio
