NoName Trio “Fill the hall with scintillating talent” ThreeWeeks (Edinburgh Fringe Festival)
NoName Trio fuses a concoction of jazz, traditional Iranian music and other influences to produce new compositions and fresh takes on classic jazz covers.
Ceri Evans (Piano):
Ceri is the engine of NoName Trio. He has been performing jazz and producing music in a variety of genres since 1980, from chart-topping hits to underground dance anthems, and won a MOBO Award for Best Jazz Album in 1997 for ‘Sunship’.
Saleh Zarei (Bass):
Saleh started his musical career in Iran, playing with various acclaimed rock and metal bands in the underground scene, such as Mohsen Namjoo, Public Voice and Atash Baad. He came to London in 2007 to study at the Tech Music School and has been working in the UK ever since.
Ali Nourbakhsh (Percussion and Drums):
Ali’s main instrument is Daf (Persian frame drum), but his insatiable love for percussion extends to many other instruments from across the world. He has over ten years experience playing with some of Iran’s best musicians, such as Sima Bina, Davod Azad and Hassan Nahid, as well as the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
