Award winning saxophonist, recorder player, composer and arranger Tom Ridout was predicted by Jazzwise Magazine in 2012 as an upcoming jazz musician to watch out for. A recent graduate from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, finalist in the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2016,Tom is a prolific composer who fronts his own bands playing his original compositions.
The No Excuses band features an up to 13 piece ensemble consisting of the Quintet (sax/recorder, guitar, piano, bass, drums) with added second guitar, string quartet and brass trio (flugelhorn, french horn and trombone).The influences for this album come from a wide range of musical sources including; jazz, folk, 60s rock/pop and 20th century tonal classical.
The first set will be played by the Quintet and the second set will be a live rendition of the album, from start to finish, with the whole band.
