There are regularly places where jazz and humour come together (or at least try to!). More successful instances are ‘Jazz Club’ on the Fast Show, Stewart Lee (passim). And most recently Matt Berry with Ben Castle.
But how effective is it? Does it help awareness of the music, or does it denigrate it too much? If humour and jazz are both there to give a different perspective on things, does bringing them together work?
Join in the Vortex discussion, which has now been running for 3 years, and is moderated by Oliver Weindling, Vortex director.
