In 2006, as the opening event of the London Jazz Festival, we celebrated the opening of Gillett Square with our Saxophone Massive event – 200 saxophonists event. In this week’s discussion, we celebrate this and look at how jazz hooks up with its community. Music by Andy Sheppard, musical director Orphy Robinson and a band aged 8-80 (and including our dear friend Tony Kofi).
Those involved will include Adam Hart, whose idea Gillett Square and the Culture House is, and Oliver Weindling, Director at the Vortex. All are welcome to discuss how jazz is a great social life force, interacting with others creatively and inspiring.
Oliver Weindling is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
