The latest Ukraine war seems to have put the arts world in a quandary. For example, orchestras cancelling Russian music from programmes and musicians being pushed out. Is this right? So there is a debate about how far we should be judging the politics of performers/artists.
Perhaps such decisions should be just those of audiences or is it right for promoters and similar to make them? In jazz we have several musicians from Russia who play regularly, not least, at the Vortex, Zhenya Strigalev.
