George Szirtes
George Szirtes is a poet and translator. Born in Hungary in 1948, he published his first book of poems, The Slant Door, in 1979. It won the Faber Prize. He has published many since then, winning the T S Eliot Prize in 2004, a prize for which he has been twice shortlisted since.
Kathy Pimlott
Kathy’s Pimlott’s pamphlet Goose Fair Night was published in March 2016. Her poems have been published in magazines including Magma, Brittle Star,The North, Mslexia and South Bank Poetry, online and in anthologies, most recently Emma Press’s Urban Myths and Legends and Best Friends Forever. Kathy was born and raised in Nottingham but has lived in Seven Dials, home of the broadsheet and the ballad, for the last 30 plus years.
Tom Bland
Tom Bland is a writer and a performance artist who accidently trained in dream analysis, and he edits the online magazine, blue of noon.
Dharmavadana Penn
Dharmavadana’s poems have appeared in Ambit, The Interpreter’s House, Brittle Star and elsewhere. He is poetry editor of the Buddhist arts magazine Urthona. He lives in London and works as a Librarian.
Alex Haines and Calum Gourlay
Alex Haines is a guitarist and composer based in London. He recently released an EP of new music (feat. Alex Munk & Nick Jurd) called ‘Outlanders’ and is currently working on new music and performing in various line-ups, as well as solo.
London-based double bassist and composer Calum Gourlay is known for his deep warm tone, controlled execution as both a supporter and improviser, and rock solid time and pulse. In 2004 he started at the Royal Academy of Music in London and graduated with a first class honors degree in 2008. Since then he has become a mainstay on the London scene while performing with the Kit Downes Trio, The Tommy Smith Group, Will Vinson, The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra featuring Joe Lovano, John Scofield, and Kurt Elling, Martin Speake, Martin Kershaw and Sheila Jordan.
Together they present music for duo, which will exhibit a broad spectrum of influences, and include brand new compositions.
